A nurse who is working at Exer is not the victim of a recent sexual assault, the company has said.
“The safety of all our employees is paramount and the company is taking this matter very seriously,” a statement from Exer said.
“We have a robust team of experts to support our staff and our communities.
The incident and the incident report are being shared with the relevant authorities and we are working to understand how this happened and why it happened.”
The incident took place on January 7, when a nurse was visiting the care home of the patient who had suffered a minor head injury and subsequently died.
Exer said the woman who was assaulted was not a victim of the assault.
The company said it has since been in contact with the woman’s family and has offered her counselling and support.
The woman has not been identified.
An Exer spokeswoman said the company would not be making any further comment.
