Avis car dealership owner Ryan Johnson says his dealership sells about 50,000 vehicles per year.
He says they are used cars that people want to keep, especially in a recession.
Johnson says it’s a challenge to find a new vehicle in the market.
He also says he has a few older cars in the dealership that he is planning on selling.
Johnson said the problem with a vehicle in a retirement market is that it doesn’t get much use.
“There’s a lot of people that don’t want to buy something that’s not going to be used for a while,” Johnson said.
Johnson also said he wants to sell some older vehicles to help pay the bills.
He said the dealership does have a lot left over for retirement.
Johnson is planning to retire in 2022.
He’s been leasing his dealership for about five years.
He started the dealership about 10 years ago.
Johnson hopes to keep the dealership open through retirement.
“It’s a good way to get people off their feet in retirement,” Johnson told Medical News Now.
“I think it’s been a good thing to do for people.”
Johnson said he also has a car dealership in Texas that has been selling used cars for about 30 years.
Johnson has two other used cars in storage that are ready to sell.
He is planning two more sales in the next few months.
Johnson expects the number of vehicles sold at the dealership to keep growing.
“That’s what you want, is to continue to see people come back into the market, especially after a recession,” Johnson explained.
“So it’s really a positive for our business.”
Johnson expects to sell about 40,000 of the cars this year.
Johnson’s dealership is also in California.
He has plans to start selling used and restored vehicles next year.
